Porto Alegre

Porto Alegre, with population of almost 1,5 million, is one of the largest cities in Brazil and it is a capital of Rio Grande do Sul State. The city is located on the junction of five rivers (called Guaí­ba Lake) on Lagoa dos Patos, an inlet of Atlantic Ocean.

Porto Alegre is one of the wealthiest cities in Latin America with the highest standard of living. It is also an important sea port and it is one of largest industrial and commercial centers in Brazil.
